The second annual Chocolate Friendzy will take place Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Jefferson public library. Beginning at 9 am and going until noon, the Friends of the Library board is welcoming members to come and sample delicious chocolates. New memberships are available at the door for as low as $5 and renewals can also be collected.
During the Chocolate event, visitors will get to walk through the library and pick up different homemade chocolate treats. The taste testers will then get to vote on their favorites with an official Tootsie roll voting station. The top bakers will receive a chocolate-theme prize as a thank you for volunteering their time.
Persons wo would like to bake their favorite chocolate recipe for the event can contact Bonnie Silbaugh at 515-386-3012 for information.
“The Friends of the Jefferson Public Library’s mission is to raise money that goes straight back to the Library to help purchase items and support programs above the library’s annual operating budget,” said Silbaugh, co-chair of the event. “The Chocolate Friendzy on is just one way that we can give back to the library for all of the wonderful programs they offer to our kids and the community.”
